Weaving Exhibition

1998, sponsored by the New Zealand High Commission
Coordinated by the Fiji Museum, and the Fiji Government Handicraft Centre.

This exhibition focused on the traditional, ritual, as well as utilitarian uses for mats by the community, the different types of mats, the modern commercial markets for weaving, and the art of weaving.

Pieces shown here are intricately woven samplers created by prominent Fiji weaver, Finau Mara.
