Grand Pacific Hotel

The grand Pacific Hotel, generally known as the GPH, opened for business just three months before the beginning of the World War I on May 23, 1914. Built by the Union Steam Ship Co. on reclaimed land on a site which in earlier days has been a tree line beach and a canoe landscaping place, GPH was to house visitors during their stop over.
