The Collections Department is in charge of the museum's collection, Reference Library, archives, editing suite and photography.

Since 1996 the Collections Department has been setting up an inventory of the museum's whole collection. Now in place are workable systems to facilitate access to information and locate items in the collection by identifying the precise display or storage location. A database has been set up to hold all of this information, including details of Fijian artifacts held in museums worldwide.

This department is responsible for responding to all research enquiries about the collection, and for curating exhibitions and subsidiary displays. Please contact the Registrar for more information.
